When using argon gas for auxiliary welding, due to the low solubility of argon gas, the cooling rate of laser welding is very fast, and the air bubbles cannot escape in time and remain in the weld to form pores. 2. When nitrogen is used as protective gas:
The appearance of pores in the laser welding process is mainly caused by insufficient protective measures. During the welding process, if nitrogen is used to assist welding, nitrogen invades the molten pool from the outside, and the solubility of nitrogen in liquid iron is different from that of nitrogen in solid iron. Therefore, during the cooling and solidification process of the metal; since the solubility of nitrogen decreases with the decrease of temperature, when the molten pool metal cools to the point where it begins to crystallize, the solubility will drop sharply and suddenly, and a large amount of gas will be precipitated at this time. For air bubbles, if the upward speed of the air bubbles is lower than the crystallization speed of the metal, pores will be formed.
